The brief
Challenge
Launch a product category that does not exist in South Africa. No search demand, no comparison set, and a proposition — your photograph rendered as a single thread wound around 200 pins — that is genuinely hard to picture from a description.
What was done
Approach
Stop explaining and show it. A live in-browser preview draws the customer's own photograph as string art before they pay anything, which converts curiosity into ownership in about fifteen seconds. Photography never leaves the device, and the page says so, because uploading a family photo to a brand you have not heard of is the real hesitation.
Decisions
Why it was built this way
01
Demonstration instead of description
For a zero-awareness product the fastest route to belief is letting the customer test it on their own photograph. The preview is the sales argument.
02
Free preview before payment
It removes the entire risk of the first step, and it self-selects — anyone who watched their own photo render is already halfway to buying.
03
Privacy stated plainly
"Previews run on your phone — your photo never leaves it." Naming the fear disarms it faster than any trust badge.
04
Two ways in
A kit you wind yourself or a finished piece made for you. Same product, two very different buyers, and the page serves both without splitting its focus.
